How to file a complaint

Do you want to file a complaint against a chiropractor?

Here’s what to do.

First, consult the office of the syndic. The syndic and his or her assistants handle all requests for inquiries regarding a possible violation of the Professional Code, the Chiropractic Act or a regulation governing chiropractors, in particular the Code of ethics of chiropractors. You can ask them all your questions.

The inquiry begins as soon as you contact the office of the syndic by phone, e-mail or fax. In your message, describe the situation that you experienced, being sure to mention the following:

  • the date and location of the event
  • the name of the chiropractor involved
  • the facts or the situation that you object to

Although it is very important that you sign the complaint in order to confirm your identity, rest assured that your request will be handled with complete confidentiality. You will receive an acknowledgment, and the office of the syndic will contact you to analyze your complaint and determine whether the facts that you reported are proof of a violation of the Professional Code, the Chiropractic Act or a regulation governing chiropractors, namely the Code of ethics.

You can contact the office of the syndic at any time during the course of the inquiry.
